Yeah, it is a real shame. I'm okay with cosmetics, but anything else is clear evidence that the game is designed for grind, or that the economy has been purposefully hamstrung somehow.
Yeah, it's a shame that Sony had to push DriveClub as the PS4's 'Big Christmas Game.' Saw some tasty LBP3 and GTA bundles, but a real shame they didn't have something a bit bigger on the first-party front.
I can't wait to see some head-to-head sales figures.
Oh gawd, I hope not.
The core MP is amazing, but DICE need to stop copying CoD for the other modes and just make Bad Company 3 instead.
@Naga: It's nice to see someone else with actual experience of the MCC getting involved and actually giving a proper balanced assessment. Like you I've found the patch a huge net positive in terms of matchmaking time, but there's still some work to be done to sort out some really aggravating workflow/stability problems and bugs.
The problem with articles like this is that they trawl forums and Twitter for hit-worthy bites, but where's the first-hand testing? W...
I'm currently finding matchmaking times to be hugely improved post-patch... BUT there are odd new problems that can stop matchmade players from entering a game, such as being kicked into a weird pseudo-party lobby or maps failing to load. It's a net positive from my experience, and I'm actually playing a ton of MCC online, but there's a difference between "better" and "fixed." We need "fixed."
No complaints on the campaign side of...
They're going through a serious funk right now. A year ago everyone was singing their praises for taking punts on risky games like Rayman Origins/Legends, Valiant Hearts etc, while putting gamers front and centre at E3. They've done some amazing good for this industry for many years, at least, so long as we're not talking about PC games.
Sadly, the last few months have been pretty shocking - and they totally deserve the bad press they've been getting. I just h...
Heh, I always laugh at Razer's hilariously overblown product names. The "Goliathus" MOUSE PAD is probably my favourite.
Then again, it's good gear, just still a tad pricey for me.
Heh, agreed. Always great to see someone getting passionate about both the good and bad parts of a game after testing it thoroughly, mind.
Pretty much made my mind up on DAI too. Hated DA2 despite it not being a 'bad' game, but might have to get back into the universe now.
The last game that did that for me was Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. Couldn't put it down, then had to lie down in a dark room.
Disappointed by the sequel, but at least it had an AMAZING ending.
Shame about the site layout, but nice article. Good to see indie games grouped right in there with the AAAs with no distinction between them.
Yeah, these are totally resistable. A few decent Vita discounts on here though.
The indies are also the developers who'll survive if people stop pre-ordering and the AAA industry crashes. I fear we're getting closer to that point with each release like Unity or MCC.
Pretty good for an official deal! Retail bundles will be cheaper, but the ability to cherry-pick two games is nice, as opposed to settling for what the specific store wants to foist on you (usually Unity by the looks of it!).
Can you not see how that's a horrible design decision, not an excuse?
When in doubt, blame the Midi-chlorians.
This is actually my biggest problem with it. I like the story, I like where I think it's going, but it's just taking an age to get there. Thankfully the 'second stories' are all surprisingly good.
That's about the size of it, especially questioning how an alien race that thrives in harsh environments can survive in a... harsh environment. I enjoy a good nitpick article, but not ones that desperately grab at straws.
Story-wise, right now I'm wondering if MC will team up with Halsey/break Halsey out of jail to rebuild/remake Cortana, forcing Locke to hunt him down as a criminal or traitor. Feel like they've set that up quite nicely in H4, but just a wild stab...
Dat handling tho.
Sorry, but a racing game lives and dies on its handling, especially open-world driving games where you have to also balance navigation and split-second decisions beyond just following a racing line. The handling needs to feel intuitive and second-nature, letting you focus on the high-level stuff, but The Crew feels really clunky.
Not entirely sure why the author refers to it as an "alpha" considering that it's referred to as a "beta" even in the screenshots, but to be honest even that's a joke.
Ubisoft calling this a beta is ridiculous to start with. The game's out in less than a month. It's not a beta, it's a demo, and by the looks of things it's putting as many people off as it is convincing them to buy it.
Oh gawd. This could be a mistake and it could be a bug, but either way, I'm very glad I held off buying.
Heh, but remember it's *£*, not *$*. Dunno what the US price is, but if exchange rate is anything to go by, it'll be higher!
